Hay Festival 2025

If you’re in Cartagena between January 30 and February 2, 2025, you can’t miss the twentieth edition of the Hay Festival Cartagena de Indias. This event, created for lovers of literature, art, and culture, will bring together more than 190 participants from 28 countries, including internationally renowned writers, journalists, poets, musicians, and artists. Among the featured guests are authors such as Cristina Rivera Garza, Salman Rushdie, Richard Ford, Juan Gómez-Jurado, María Dueñas, Piedad Bonnett, and Juan Gabriel Vásquez.

The program will cover a wide range of topics, from literature and art to science, technology, climate change, immigration, and challenges to democracy. In addition to talks and panels, the festival will offer activities such as workshops, concerts, and film screenings. Tickets will be available online, with free admission reserved for students, and several events will be live-streamed.

The Hay Festival Cartagena 2025 will take place at various iconic venues around the city, just steps away from Casa Noa, allowing visitors to enjoy the city’s rich cultural and historical heritage while attending the scheduled activities. The main venues include the Adolfo Mejía Theater—also known as the Teatro Heredia—the Spanish Cooperation Training Center, Plaza de la Proclamación, the Customs Library (Biblioteca de la Aduana), among others.
